Why Dealing with a Car Shipping Broker is the Best Way to Go

Majority of the companies found online as you search for the best car shipping company are actually car shipping brokers. They provide you with competitive quotes for the shipment of your car. The broker will be your main point of contact from obtaining the quote and throughout the process until your vehicle is delivered to your door or a terminal. A broker’s job is to find the right carrier/driver for your route and shipping needs.

Read The Reviews And Check Out What Others Have To Say

Go online and read car shipping reviews of companies that you have obtained car shipping prices from to make sure you are going to be taken care of and more likely to be satisfied with your door to door car shipping experience. A good service will answer all of your questions and make you feel comfortable that you are in good hands with their experience and knowledge of the industry. A reputable broker will return your calls promptly and keep you updated about the timeline and be upfront with you about what to expect. You will likely have a better experience dealing with a broker rather than a carrier directly-the broker is your customer service contact that has the time and resources to be available to facilitate the shipment and to negotiate the best rate to ship a car from state to state and across the country. Reading tips on car shipping and reviews allows you to narrow down and finally select the car shipping company that’s right for your situation.

You Get What You Pay For, Avoid Frustration At All Costs

When looking to ship a car on the cheap, you will see that the quotes are within a range, which reflects what the market price will be: how much does it cost to ship a car for the dates that you selected. If any of the rates are drastically lower than the others you received, you can assume it is unrealistic, too good to be true, and no driver will want to pick up the vehicle for the price that the car shipping broker quoted for you. Whether a “low ball” quote was human error or from a company with a known history of bad business practices, remember that you always get what you pay for. You do not have to choose the highest price you received, but keep in mind that there are carefully calculated factors and economic conditions that are used to calculate your rate to ship across country. Be a smart consumer and review and assess all companies side by side to make your selection easier with confidence.

Finding a trustworthy, reputable car shipping broker is easy when you compare a few companies side by side and read the reviews from previous customers. With a 5 of out 5 star rating, we take shipping your vehicle very seriously. Simply enter your shipping information into the quote box to your left, and one of our outstanding brokers will assist you shortly. Thanks for choosing Car Shipping Carriers!

An Honest Car Shipper Equals Honest Deals

Being a car shipping broker is no easy task. Being in the trenches and in the line of fire on a daily basis can cause for some interesting situations occurring. Car shipping brokers are the people you find online when performing a search to find the best car shipping company for you. The reason for this is because nearly all car shippers are just a 1 or 2 person show. They own 1 or 2 car haulers and they do a dedicated route on a weekly basis. They cannot accommodate a nationwide audience, so the brokers are needed to gather customers from across the United States and dispatch them to the right shippers.

What Does A Broker Actually Do?

The car shipping broker company generates it own leads or purchases leads from lead aggregate sites. Generating you own leads can cost anywhere between $8-$15 per lead and when purchasing leads from aggregates the leads range from $1-$3 depending on the quality of the lead. Leads can add up QUICK a good sales staff is needed to keep a business afloat in the industry.

Once they have the lead, they have to properly provide a car shipping quote to each lead that comes through. This is no easy task because the car shipping rates are constantly changing and different sizes of vehicles cost different car shipping prices for each route. After the lead is quoted, they need to call the customer and sell them on their company or car shipping services they offer. Getting a person on the phone is much harder then might think, so this process can take a few days or weeks even.

Once the customer commits with the broker company they have to post the vehicle on the national load board so every car shipping company can see the listing and call the broker if they are interested in that vehicle for that price. If it isn’t priced in the market value it is unlikely that they will get the vehicle moved because there are MANY other vehicles out there doing similar routes for the car shipping companies to choose from. There are generally about 20,000-30,000 vehicles that are transported every month. Keep that in mind.

Once a company commits to the broker to transport the vehicle the customer is notified about the pick up and delivery time frames. From there the job is basically done besides customer service with the customer.

What People Don’t Realize

What people don’t realize is that how the job works above is not as easy as it sounds. Being human can cause for errors in quoting from time to time, and time frames established for pick up and delivery. Car haulers can also have delays or can breakdown from time to time. Even the best shipping companies experience mishaps. Customers are not too fond of delays or mishaps occurring because they anticipated a certain time frame and when it doesn’t happen, their plans are in the mud. Even if it is just an hour or two delay because of a prior pick up or delivery taking extra time can be difficult because some customers need to be on schedule for their lives as well. It is these occasions that make for a mess in the car shipping industry. No one likes screaming phone calls or phone calls to be constantly updated on when the trucker will arrive for pick up or delivery. That is what makes the job of a car shipping broker difficult.

Being a broker for in the car shipping business is a very fun a rewarding job when done properly because we get to help people on a daily basis. What we do for a living should not be taken lightly, we love our jobs and that’s why we do it. Be a little nicer to the person over the phone next time because they are doing everything they can to make sure you can have a pleasant car shipping experience.

Determining Quotes For Shipping Cars

How Did You Come to That? When someone needs to send a car, they want to know if it is feasible for them by evaluating multiple shipping quotes for cars. Some companies will tell you the cost is based on a per mile basis while others will say it depends on the size of the vehicle. Even some brokers who ship cars will say it is based on the distance between pick-up and delivery from metropolitan areas or major highways. It may even come down to the popularity of the route as in snowbird season and shipments heading south. And lastly, others claim it is based on the length of the route. The honest truth is that all of these are factors in determining a car shipping quote.

Here’s How Receiving an Instant Car Shipping Quote Works:

Let’s pretend we have someone who needs shipping car services from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA for an SUV and another person has to transport a sedan from a Los Angeles, CA to a city 50 miles north of Boston, MA.

Cheap Car Shipping Quotes Break Down:

    1. When our best car shippers pick up vehicles from metropolitan areas, the price will remain fairly constant for each type of vehicle. However, each mile outside of the normal route, it generally costs around $1.00 per mile affecting the overall rate of the cars shipping to that location. If you are 50 miles outside the normal metropolitan area/highway the driver will ask for $100, $50 each way, because that is about how much money in fuel he is losing to pick up or deliver the vehicle.

    1. The SUV will cost more per mile because of the larger size and weight than the sedan vehicle. As mentioned in #1, the 50 miles away the sedan is from any major metropolitan area will increase the cost per mile even though the SUV is larger. Basically, distance will determine the cost more than the actual size of the vehicle.

    1. There are generally times throughout the year when going one way is more expensive than going the exact route in the opposite direction. This occurs when an overflow of cars travel in one direction compared to going the opposite direction like snowbird season. The cost increases because there are not enough people to haul the cars. This increase in demand in routes such as Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA might cost $.33 per mile. While the other direction, Los Angeles, CA to Boston, MA might cost $.30 per mile.

    1. The popularity of a route plays a huge factor as mentioned above in the supply and demand example. Also, particular markets have this as well. California is a more popular shipping location than a state like Wyoming or Oklahoma. If less companies do that particular route, they are able to charge a premium because not many others do that same route.

  1. The length of the transport plays a role in the cost as well. An example of this is going from San Diego, CA to Dallas, TX and San Diego, CA to Miami, FL. Going from San Diego, CA to Dallas, TX generally runs a consumer $550-$750 depending on the season, type of vehicle, etc.

On the other hand, San Diego, CA to Miami, FL runs a consumer $750-$950 depending on the season, type of vehicle, etc. Then from San Diego, CA to Dallas, TX is about half of the distance to Miami, FL but it is not half the price. Shorter routes generally have a higher cost per mile than longer routes.

We hope this helps clear up any confusion you may have with what determines the cost of shipping your car. It’s as easy as filling out the quite box to your left, and we’ll contact you immediately regarding your shipping route cost.
